Digital Photography Details:Cameras are like handheld scanners; CCD- Charged Coupled Devices- measures light intensity

• Reflected light excites an "array"- Density of the grid = quality, more dots = less jagged

Digital's advantage from film is their ability to see color as the human eye

• Cheap/so shoot as much as you want to get that perfect picture

Digital's disadvantage from film is their inability to handle radically different lighting
conditions.

• Film can compensate by using different film
• Digitals' exposure system needs to have flexibility

Megapixel (million) is a measure of how many pixels the sensor uses to split-up, then reassemble
the picture. This helps determine the maximum size prints you can make.
You can print bigger, but you get "jaggies" Interpolation, fill in's. The picture looks grainy.
