PowerPoint Presentation

The object is to have student create a PowerPoint presentation that contains text and images on their selected topic.

Students must select an appropriate topic to be approved by the teacher. Students must storyboard their plans before beginning. Storyboards may be on large poster paper, butcher paper, or 4x6 cards, or on the storyboard handout. Complete the storyboard before starting work on the computer.

Intermediate and advanced students should select images from reliable internet sources. They must save the images as well. Beginning students may work in groups of two or three if they wish. Intermediate and advanced students should work in groups of two or independently.

The teacher will presents a lesson on creating presentations in PowerPoint. All students will use a set of similar images from a the same topic. Included in the lesson is how to use PowerPoint and what all of the buttons mean. Students will create a presentation of 3 or 4 still slides.

After this the teacher will supervise students as they work on their projects. Students will not be allowed to begin work on the computer until the storyboard is complete.

Create a Web Site

The object is to have student create a web site that contains text and images on their selected topic. This web site will become part of the teacher's web site.
