Where's Mr. Aitken...clue number 2!

Picture
The students and I spent Monday morning learning to snorkel in a magnitude 2, fresh water spring.  We learned about indigenous species found in the area.  In the afternoon we visited an animal hospital that specializes in caring for a particular marine mammal.  This mammal lives in both fresh and salt water.  It usually feeds on vegetation found at the mouth of rivers.  This is a very large marine animal.  Are you getting any closer to guessing where I am?  What guesses do you have and what reasons do you have those guesses?

Mr Aitken I think you are in Florida because Manatees live in both fresh and salt water and because the picture you have posted looks like a marsh and according to google Florida has alligators in the state and alligators live in swamps and marshes.

I think the mammal might be a dolphin because they can live in fresh or saltwater or it might be a whale because whales can sometimes travel in freshwater but they don't stay for long and return back to the ocean. Now I think he might be in Florida because there is a dolphin and whale hospital there.

My guess is that Mr. Aitken is in Florida because Florida is at least 1700 miles away, it has a lot of marine animals, and it is surrounded by water.
My guess is that the animal is a alligator because it can live on both land and freshwater.

My prediction the West Indian manatee, because it lives in salt and freshwater, about 10 feet long, and it is a herbivore.
My other prediction about the place you are in is still Florida because at the University of Florida, the Veterinary Medicine part studies manatees.

I think the animal you saw was a big,fat hippopotamus because it's spends time inhabiting different types of bodies of water and it is a herbivore. :)

You were in a fresh water spring teaching your pupils to snorkel. :)

The animal I think its a west Indian manatee because its swims in salt water and walks on land. They also eat sea grass and that their major food source.

I think the animal you saw was a sea otter because it spends its time in fresh and salt water.

I think you are near a river with fresh water and a large mammal and a animal hospital that specializes in caring for a particular marine animal. The state that I think that you are in is Tallahassee, Florida.

1) I believe you are in Florida and your animals are manatees because they can live in freshwater and saltwater, feed on seagrass, are quite large, and sometimes live in springs

I think the marine animal is a manatee because manatees graze on seaweed and other vegetables underwater. I also believe that you're in the state of Florida because some manatees can be found off the coast of Florida.

I think the animal you saw might be a manatee because it can live in both fresh and salt water, plus it is a herbivore so that means it eats plant which is vegetation. I think you are in Florida because manatees are in Florida. It's on the coast and Florida is about 1,700 miles from Phoenix.

I think the marine animal that can live in fresh and saltwater is a manatee. A manatee is a herbivore and is also a marine animal who eats sea-grass leaves which is a type of vegetation. I think you are in Alabama to do summer sightings on manatees because they live in coastal areas around where you are in the summer.

1. The name of the animal Mr. Aitken described is the Manatee because the manatee is a large marine animal that is a vegetarian that lives in both fresh water and salt water.
2. The name of the state Mr. Aitken and his class are in is Florida because it fits the picture you took on this post (the swamp) and it fits the description you gave in clue number 1.

I think you are at Crystal Spring, Florida studying Florida Manatees. I think the manatee is the animal because it is large, eats veggies, lives in salt and fresh water depending on the time of year. You are at Florida because manatees are always living in Florida and 1700 miles away from Arizona, can also be Florida.

I think you were studying sting rays. You could also be studying a specific type of eel. I did some research and I found out that eels and sting rays can live in freshwater and salt water but a few can't. I think you're in Mobile Bay because it's near Saint Elmo airport.
